FLEXIBILITY
All the topics described below can be adjusted to meet your group's needs whether you need a talk to fit into a tight schedule or you have a particular theme. Let's work together to make this an event your ladies will remember.
My Home and My Hips Are Both Double-Wide
Okay, so your life isn't following your original plan? God is never surprised by the unexpected twists in our lives. Based on Leanne's work-in-progress by the same name, she encourages the group not to despair but to understand that "His ways are not our ways", therefore His ways can be a lot more adventurous than our own. Didn't marry Prince Charming? Who wants to clean all those rooms in a palace anyway? Living in a trailer park? No pesky neighborhood covenant. Based on Phil. 4:12-13 your ladies will gain a sense of contentment regardless of their circumstance. (45-60 min.)
The iPod and the Sponge
Ever thought Martha might be similar to an iPod or Mary would have the characteristics of a sponge? Probably not, but in this entertaining yet inspirational study you'll learn how the Father deliberatly uses our different gifts and personalities to reach the lost, minister to others and bless our families. You'll hear how God is constantly refining and shaping us, not to tear us down but to draw us into a deeper relationship with Him. This is an encouraging talk that is suitable for volunteer or teacher appreciation banquets. (45 minutes)
The Runaway Bride
Remember the hit movie starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere? The poor girl loved one man after another but couldn't make that final step to the altar, the place where commitment and sacrifice would cause her to turn and run. As we, the Bride of Christ, await His return do we find ourselves dodging the wedding day? Are we as unfaithful to our coming Groom as Gomer was to her husband, Hosea? Are we waiting faithfully as Rachel did for her true love, Jacob? Participants will hear an exciting slant on what being the Bride of Christ means and will learn, like Jacob how the wait for His return "can seem like only a few days." (Gen. 29:20) Perfect for ladies' day out or banquet. (45-60 min.)
Moving Beyond the Chat Room
In this day of electronic mail, text messaging and cyber space, a person can have a world of "friends", yet never meet them face-to-face. Many of us believe that's the kind of relationship we have with our heavenly Father. We zip Him an abbreviated message, get mad if we don't get an immediate reply, and never expect to really meet Him on a personal basis. But our Abba delights and rejoices in us. This can be a life-changing event as each listener is invited to experience Jesus in a profoundly passionate way. Suitable for two talks at a ladies' day/retreat or can be adapted for a 45 minute luncheon.
Desperate Daughters
Are you worn out, tired, depressed, at your wit's end? Have you gained unsightly belly fat? This talk won't do anything about the fat, but it will help you see who you are in Christ. One woman in the New Testament was overwhelmed by what life had given her, until she became overwhelmed by grace. At the same time a daddy was fearful for his daughter's life until He experienced what it truly means to be a child of God. All the daughters in attendance will hear the truth about their identity. They will learn to apply it to overcome what life has dealt them, and maybe lose a pound or two. Perfect for mother-daughter banquets, etc. (30-45 min.)
The Chronicles of Uz
Study the entire book of Job in one awesome weekend. The study includes four sessions, each one hour long. Topics include "Friends Who Care and Other Myths", and "The Lion, the Wind and the Leviathan." If you've ever felt alone, been falsely accused, or questioned God, this study can alter your view and change your thinking from defeat to victory, the way the Father intended.
